Welcome to Winges Carpentry in Mountain, named in 1798 by the Lieutenant Governor for his friend Right Reverend Jacob Mountain and the first Anglican Bishop of Quebec. Settlement was slow in 1815, but over time, settlers built more substantial houses and drained lowlands for cultivation. Through the 1850’s, additional villages were established for business or by the railroad and by 1857 the first organized worship service was held. Development was encouraged by the construction of sawmills and in 1998 Mountain and Winchester townships were joined into North Dundas Township.
