When a meaningful home improvement project goes beyond the expertise of the average homeowner, Tim, of Winges Carpentry Service, is prepared to step in and help you realize your goals. With more than thirty years of experience in all aspects of the profession and as a Master Carpenter, Tim will treat your project, as though he were working on his own home.

Also a Period Restoration Specialist, Tim has learned his craft over the years, ever since taking on his first real job at age seventeen, working for D. Kemp Edwards Lumber Company in Ottawa, as the Lathe Operator. His work involved turning balusters, newel posts, table and chair legs, etc. on a turn-of-the-century lathe, that could handle material up to ten feet long.

Winges Carpentry is also pleased to be registered with Trusted Pros, an online service connecting Trusted professional trades people with customers. While Tim specializes in bringing heritage pieces back to life, he also performs all aspects of carpentry including small additions such as dormers, plaster repair, drywall, painting, ceramics flooring, special and plain decks, bar tops and more. In addition, Tim also reproduces certain pieces of special woodworking in his custom turnings shop, located in Mountain, Ontario.

“I always try to get as much detail out of my clients as possible,” he says. “So then I am able to show them how I will achieve the results that they want. I always love a good challenge.”

With three decades working in the profession, Tim has worked throughout Ottawa and the Valley. Just a few of his career highlights include:

• Restoration of two, two storey large columns on Cambridge St., in Ottawa
• Restoration of a Victorian fence In Rockcliff Park in 1998
• Successful completion of many bathroom restorations in the nation’s capital, as well as a large porch restoration in Winchester
• Various jobs in the Glebe and New Edinburgh neighbourhoods in Ottawa such as vinyl tile floors, window replacements, kitchen storage cabinets, basement insulation and water proofing, painting and trim work, ceramic work, porch and deck work.
